Demonstration Days

“New for 2014, we are now adding Demonstration Days as well as Artist Access Days.”

What are Demonstration Days?

During our 2014 season Demonstration Artists will set up a station at various places around the park where they can create art and interact with park guests. The art created during these sessions can vary in theme. They can be interpreted from anything found around the park or anything nature related - and of course always child-friendly. We are open to a variety of 2D and 3D media. The art will also be considered for display in our Art in the Park Gallery in Red Barn Gifts.

What is required: Being familiar with your craft and comfortable with onlookers while you create will be important. We have found that our guests - even our smallest ones - are fascinated by the artistic process. The excitement from viewers can be inspiring. They are typically very respectful of the artist's space and need for concentration, but may have questions about the artistic process. Our Demonstration Artists are also typically part of our docent program. Their demonstration activities will count toward their docent hours. More...

What you are provided: A designated space and signage indicating your participation. An additional docent will be on hand in the event you need additional assistance.
