Artist Access
Gilroy Gardens extends the opportunity for local artists to have access to The Gardens to paint, draw, sculpt or photograph. All art created in The Gardens or art related to The Gardens will be considered for exhibition in our new Art in the Park Gallery in the Red Barn. Each season we set aside certain days for artists to have access to The Gardens free of charge. These are called Artist Access Days.
This year Art in the Park Artist Access Days are held on designated Saturdays and available for artists who want to sketch, paint, or photograph - with or without interacting with park guests. We leave the creative process up to you. You are free to roam around the park and come and go as you please on the day you are registered. Registered artists & photographers are allowed into the park at 9:00 AM on Saturday Access Days. The parking lot opens at 8:30 AM. Normal Park hours are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Demonstration Days
As of 2014, we are now adding Demonstration Days as well as Artist Access Days. Demonstration Artists are a little different. You will have a station set up with an identifiable area, an additional docent on hand to assist, and signage indicating your participation as a Demonstration Artist. Our Demonstration Artists are typically involved in our Artist Docent program as well.
Participating as a Demonstration Artist will not only allow our visitors an interactive experience, it will offer our artists the ability to meet guests, hand out their brochures, and answer questions about their art. If you would like more information on how to get involved as a Demonstration Artist, please
